We will address the question and see the answer from scripture; what is the fear of the Lord?
In this sermon, Pastor Chad shares from the Bible about this misunderstood topic. We are often told as Christians not to be afraid of anything, or to be fearful is not scriptural or a lack of faith. We quote 2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control. Yet, in other verses, the Bible gives us this clear instruction. But what does it mean? How do these things work together?
Is it simply respecting or reverencing God as some say? Is it something that should make us uncomfortable? Should it be something we desire? I thought our Heavenly Father is love, why then should I fear God? Or does the Bible mean something completely different?
The Bible says this in Isaiah 33:6 - He shall be the stability of your times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is His treasure.
This bible study beginning with Isaiah 33 will give an understanding of what it means to fear God and the blessings and benefits that come from it.
