By Pastor Chad Fisher, sharing biblical insights to inspire and strengthen your faith and relationship with God.
Jesus said in Matthew 17:20, "If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you." Faith is not just belief; it is action rooted in trust. The Bible is full of people who took bold steps because they trusted God. These are not just examples of faith—they are examples of great faith in the Bible that moved mountains.

Abraham: Faith to Leave the Familiar
Abraham obeyed God's call to leave his homeland without knowing where he was going (Genesis 12:1-4). His faith wasn’t in a plan but in a Person. Because of his obedience, he became the father of nations. Faith sometimes means stepping into the unknown with only God’s promise.
Moses: Faith to Confront Pharaoh
Moses faced Pharaoh, the most powerful ruler of his time, to demand Israel's freedom (Exodus 5:1). Despite his insecurities and doubts, Moses trusted God's power to speak through him. Faith moves mountains when we face challenges that feel far bigger than we are.
The Centurion: Faith in Jesus’ Word Alone
In Matthew 8:5-10, a Roman centurion believed Jesus could heal his servant without even coming to his home. Jesus marveled at his faith, saying, "Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith." The centurion demonstrated great faith in the Bible, trusting in the authority of Jesus' word alone.
The Woman with the Issue of Blood
She had suffered for 12 years, but her faith pushed her to reach out and touch Jesus' cloak (Mark 5:25-34). Jesus told her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well." Her quiet, desperate belief brought healing.
Joshua: Faith to March Around Jericho
Instead of attacking Jericho with force, Joshua obeyed God’s unusual battle plan: march silently for six days and then shout on the seventh (Joshua 6). The walls fell because of faith in God's instructions, not military might.
Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego: Faith Under Fire
These young men refused to bow to a golden idol, even when threatened with a fiery furnace (Daniel 3). They declared, "Our God... is able to deliver us... but even if not, we will not serve your gods." Their faith was unshakable, and God protected them.
Peter: Faith to Step Out of the Boat
When Jesus walked on water, Peter asked to join Him (Matthew 14:28-29). As long as Peter focused on Jesus, he walked on water. Fear sank him, but faith kept him afloat. Mountain-moving faith often starts with one brave step.
Conclusion
