Tithes and Offering - the widows mite

Tithes and Offering Exhortation - Luke 21:1-4

Main Verse – Luke 21:1-4

THE JOY OF GIVING

Plain Truth: Jesus highlights the value of sacrificial giving and emphasizes the heart's intention behind the offering.

PRACTICAL POINTS

Sacrificial Giving

-Our giving is significant, yet God places greater value on our hearts' sincerity and sacrificial attitude than just the quantity of our offerings.

Intention and Heart Matter

-The poor widow gave out of her poverty, showing her whole-hearted dedication to God and trust in His provision. When we give with a sincere and sacrificial heart, it demonstrates our faith and love for God.

Generosity Knows No Wealth Boundary

-This passage challenges the idea that only those with abundance can give. The widow, despite her poverty, gave everything she had. It reminds us that everyone can participate in giving regardless of financial situation. It's a reminder that God's kingdom is built not just on large sums but on the generosity and faith of His people.

PRACTICALITIES OF GIVING

A. Before you come and bring your tithe/offering (pray and ask God what you should give).

B. When you give. Thank Him for the ability. Thank Him for the finances to give. Do it with honor and worship in your heart.

C. Give in faith with expectation.

CONCLUSION

This passage encourages us to reevaluate our giving not in terms of quantity but in terms of the heart's commitment and willingness to sacrifice for God's work.
